KIDS MUSICAL THEATRE PROGRAM

We are so excited to announce that our Kids Musical Theatre program will be returning for its fourth semester in September, 2026!

Kids ages 6-13 will work with experienced instructors to put on a production of the beloved, family-favourite musical Annie (Kids Edition)! Over the course of a semester, children will learn how to sing, dance, and act, building fundamental theatre skills and confidence along the way.

The program will culminate in a performance for friends and family.

In our program, every child is a star! We prioritize inclusivity and fun just as much as learning. No experience is necessary—just bring your creativity and excitement! Make new friends and discover the magic of theatre.

Program Details

Ages 6-13.

10 Sessions from September 12th - November 21st, 2026. A final performance for friends and family will occur during the final session on November 21st, 2026

Classes Occur on Saturdays from 10:30 AM - 2:30 PM on the following dates:

Classes occur in King City at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 13190 Keele Street.

This program costs $440 per participant. There is no tax or HST charged for this program.

About the Show

Based on the popular comic strip and adapted from the Tony Award-winning Best Musical, with a beloved book and score by Tony Award-winners, Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, Annie KIDS features everyone’s favorite little redhead in her very first adventure.

With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone's hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. Annie is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Annie eventually foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations, finding a new home and family in billionaire, Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.

Program Structure

Over the course of ten engaging sessions, children will develop their singing, dancing, and acting skills while building confidence and essential performance techniques. Together, they’ll bring an officially licensed musical to life in a memorable final performance.

In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know one another and understanding the importance of ensemble work. Together, we’ll begin learning a group number in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Roles will be assigned based on participation and enthusiasm during this session—no formal auditions required, making the process fun and stress-free. Every child will have the opportunity to shine in their own unique role.

Throughout the remaining sessions, the group will work together to bring the show to life. We’ll celebrate every child’s creativity and progress.

Our program culminates in a special performance for friends and family during our final session.

Program Expectations

At our children’s educational programs, fun and creativity take centre stage! To make sure every participant has a fantastic experience, we follow a few important guidelines.

Respect

Children are expected to show respect for their fellow participants, instructors, and the environment we share.

Kindness & Support

Our programs thrive on teamwork and friendship. Every child is encouraged to uplift and support their peers. Bullying or unkind behaviour of any kind is not tolerated—our goal is to create a safe and welcoming space for everyone to shine.

Hard Work & Commitment

Participation is key! While sessions are designed to be fun and engaging, we also emphasize effort. Children are expected to enthusiastically participate in learning their scenes, songs, and choreography during rehearsals. Outside of class, there’s minimal homework—just memorizing lines and practicing to be ready for the next session.

Following these guidelines creates a positive, supportive environment where children can grow in confidence, build friendships, and develop valuable skills both on and off the stage.

Terms and Conditions:

Refunds

A full refund is available up to two weeks prior to the program start date. A partial refund is available for up to two classes into the program. No refunds are available after the third class.

Program Cancellation

In the event that the program has to be cancelled for any reason, King Theatre Company will provide a full refund to all participants
