Alias Grace Show Poster (2).png

Join us for the Canadian premiere of Alias Grace, the stage adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s acclaimed novel. Alias Grace brings to life one of York Region—and Canada’s—most notorious murder cases.

In 1843, 16-year-old Grace Marks was accused of brutally murdering her employer and his housekeeper. Imprisoned for years, Grace still swears she has no memory of the killings. A doctor in the emerging field of mental health arrives to try to find out the truth of the matter. Alias Grace is a fascinating study of memory, culpability, and the shadowy spaces within the human mind.

Schomberg Community Hall will be transformed into an intimate black-box thrust stage, placing audiences at the heart of this gripping local story that questions not only what happened, but who has the power to decide the truth.
