THE FUTURE OF THEATRE IN KING

Founded in 2024, King Theatre Company is dedicated to enriching the lives of King Township and GTA residents by providing high-quality, professional theatre, entertainment, and educational programming. As a registered not-for-profit, our mission is to cultivate culture, foster community, and offer employment opportunities for local artists while promoting civic engagement. Through the transformative power of the performing arts, we aim to enhance the cultural fabric of our rapidly growing community.

In the coming years, King Theatre Company envisions itself as a leading cultural institution in King Township and the GTA. We aspire to be a hub for professional live entertainment, artistic development, and arts-based education. Chloë Rose Flowers

Artistic Director

Born and raised in King City, Chloë is thrilled to bring professional theatre to the Township as the Artistic Director of King Theatre Company. Chloë directs KTC's professional and children's programming.

An award-winning producer, director, and performer. Chloë has worked with theatre companies across Ontario, including Mirvish Productions, Shakespeare in Action, Theatre Georgian Bay, Theatre by the Bay, and Hart House Theatre.

 

She has produced everything from independent works to full theatrical seasons, spanning musicals, mainstage plays, Shakespeare in the Park, radio dramas, workshops, and devised theatre.

When not working on a production, Chloë enjoys spending time with her horses.

José Andrés Bordas, a BAH (Drama) graduate from Queen's University, has passionately explored theatre through productions like Concord Floral, A Zoo Story, The Crucible, Cabaret, The Importance of Being Earnest, and most recently performing in the Ottawa Fringe Festival. In 2019, he played a pivotal role in founding 6 AM Productions, a dynamic theatre company based in Kingston that expanded its reach to the GTA. José's vision is to provide meaningful paid opportunities for local artists, emphasizing immersive experiences crafted with spontaneity and creativity through improv. Debuting with King Theatre Company, José continues to express gratitude to friends and family for their unwavering support.

Shelagh Carlini

Shelagh is an actor, writer, and director based in York Region, originally from Toronto. She trained in Theatre Performance at the University of Toronto Scarborough and has performed across Ontario and internationally. Selected theatre credits include The Children’s Hour (Shaw Festival), Myths That Unite Us (Studio Ypsilon, Czech Republic), The Indian Affairs (Debajehmujig Theatre Group); Much Ado About Nothing, Blood Relations (Theatre Aurora); The Mousetrap, The Game’s Afoot (Markham Little Theatre). She’s excited to join forces with King Theatre Company and dive back into the joyful chaos of live performance. When not on stage or behind the scenes, Shelagh is usually running lines in her head while wrangling and refereeing her three small humans—lovingly known as “the monsters.” Much love and thanks to her husband Michael for his unwavering support, and to her family for their endless encouragement.

Nathan Chou

No stranger to the stage, Nathan has been performing since he was 5 years old. Thus far, he has focused on musicals and is thrilled to be making his acting debut with King Theatre Company! His most memorable musical roles include Charlie Bucket (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), Flounder (The Little Mermaid), and Oliver Twist (Oliver Jr.). Nathan is currently in grade 6 at St. Angela Merici Catholic School and when he’s not on stage, you can find him on the pitch playing soccer!

Alexa Dimoulas

Alexa Dimoulas is ecstatic to be making her debut with King Theatre Company in this exhilarating new version of the classic tale A Christmas Carol. Alexa is a recent graduate of the University of Windsor’s BFA Acting program with some of her favourite past roles including Amanda Wingfield in The Glass Menagerie, Meg March in Little Women, Sir Toby Belch in Twelfth Night, and Vivienne Kensington in Legally Blonde. She sends endless love and gratitude to her family, friends, and to Daniel for being her forever scene partner. Enjoy! Muah <3!!

Isabella Drummond

A Christmas Carol

​For KTC: Debut

Isabella Drummond (Age 11) is a Grade 6 student from Stouffville and is thrilled to be part of A Christmas Carol with King Theatre Company. Her previous stage credits include Lumiere and Baker’s Wife in Beauty and the Beast, and Ensemble in Journey to Mulan. She has also appeared in the music video Dawn Till Dusk with
Harriet Chung Performing Arts. Other favourite roles include Gramma Tala in Moana Jr. and The Queen of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland Jr. through Marquee TP Camps. Isabella is deeply passionate about the performing arts. She loves singing, acting, and dancing,
and is refining her skills in Musical Theatre under the mentorship of Harriet Chung Performing Arts. She continues her piano studies at the International Music Academy and enjoys attending live theatre, dance performances, and concerts of all kinds. Outside of the arts, Isabella enjoys spending time with her family, playing competitive basketball, recreational volleyball, and swimming. In her downtime, she loves curling up with a good book and her cat, Simba.

Andrew Easterling

Andrew is a recent graduate of U of T: Theatre and Drama studies with Sheridan College. He's been in ample roles as an actor across the GTA including Don Pedro (Much Ado About Nothing), Bowe (My Boy Jack), and O'Shaunessy (Is He Dead). He has also conducted himself as a fight choreographer and coach for various productions. Looking forward to applying himself to more stages in Toronto as an actor and fight coordinator in both contemporary, and classical projects.

Ali Farhadi

A Christmas Carol

Ali Farhadi is a Shiraz-born Iranian-Canadian actor, writer, and musician based in Toronto. A multidisciplinary artist, he draws from Eastern and Western storytelling traditions to craft bold, immersive narratives across theatre, film, and music. Trained at Toronto Metropolitan University under acclaimed artists like Marianne McIsaac and Cynthia Ashperger, he has developed skills in stage combat, voiceover, and clown work. His stage credits include Richard III (Duke of Clarence), Edward II (Duke of Lancaster/King’s Gaoler), and The Division with Tarragon Theatre. Beyond acting, Ali is deeply engaged in writing, directing, and composing, often blending music and storytelling in multilingual, experimental works. A lifelong sci-fi and fantasy fan, he brings imaginative, cinematic elements to the stage. He sees acting challenges as life’s challenges and embraces the growth they offer. Through his work, he invites audiences into stories that are thought-provoking, emotional, and deeply human. He is eager to share his art with the world and, if you are willing, to see if you like him. He would like that—if you liked him.

Luca Mocan

A Christmas Carol

Luca Mocan is an actor born and raised in Mississauga, Ontario. He is a recent graduate from Brock University’s Concurrent Education Program where he majored in both Education and Dramatic Arts, training at both the Shaw and Stratford festivals during this time. Some of Luca’s credits at Brock include Trigorin in Stupid Bird (Mainstage) and Homebody in Welcome Home (Devised Production). His recent film credits include Paul in No Man (TFS Thesis) and Thomas Hartwell in Reaping the Whirlwind (Sheridan Film School). In addition to acting, Luca also works with the City of Mississauga, teaching classes for aspiring actors of all ages. He is thrilled to be a part of King Theatre Company’s production of A Christmas Carol!

He sends endless love and thanks to his family, friends, dogs, and teachers, all without whom he would not be where he is today.

Andrew Pawarroo (he/him/his) is happy to be making his King Theatre Company debut. Acting credits include: Baskerville (Markham Little Theatre), Lilt, Laughter and Song (Diva in the Rough Productions), Get a Dog (WiseGirls Productions), A Christmas Carol (Theatre Bacchus) - funnily enough.

Mike D. Smith

A Christmas Carol

​For KTC: Debut

 

Mike is delighted to be playing Scrooge in King City. Mike is an army brat who was born in Barrie and grew up in various places including CFB Borden, Quebec City, Montreal, Ottawa and the UK. He currently resides in Toronto. He returned to acting six years ago after a twenty five year hiatus working in the financial industry and raising a family. He works mostly in film and television and has appeared in The Office Movers and The Dessert Presents: St Bulges Day on Crave TV. His most recent theatre role was last June where he played Roger in Long Live The Rainbow presented by Elderberry Productions at Alunmae Theatre. He also works as a tour guide at Rogers Centre and ScotiaBank Arena. He also guides a walking tour of movie locations in downtown Toronto. He is married with three daughters and three cats.

Miranda Wiseman

Miranda Wiseman (she/her) is a Toronto-based theatre artist and administrator who is thrilled to be making her King Theatre Company debut with A Christmas Carol. Since graduating from the University of Toronto and Sheridan Joint Theatre and Drama Studies program, she has performed in a variety of theatre, film, and voice over works. Some recent performance credits include: CJ in I Was Unbecoming Then, Swing for Curious George and the Golden Meatball, Monica in The Wedding Party, and Kat in Justice: A Holocaust Zombie Story. Miranda would like to thank her family, friends, and partner for all their support.

Fred Kuhr

King Theatre Company's "ART" marks Fred Kuhr's return to live theatre after 20 years focusing on film, TV and web content. After graduating from the Northwestern University School of Drama outside Chicago, Fred worked as an actor in Chicago and across New England. Notable roles included starring in Neil Simon's "Lost In Yonkers," David Mamet's "All Men Are Whores" and Stephen Sondheim's "Sweeney Todd." After moving to Toronto, he starred in several independent films and television commercials. Notable TV appearances include on Global TV's reality competition "Canada Sings," W's "Come Dine With Me Canada" and Howie Mandel's hidden-camera show, "Howie Do It." Fred is also a filmmaker in his own right, having produced and directed several award-winning short films. He's currently writing his first feature screenplay. A dual US/Canadian citizen, he lives in Toronto with his husband.

Nicholas Rice

Tuesdays With Morrie: "Morrie Schwartz"

Nicholas Rice is delighted to be in King City. Born in Winnipeg, he trained at UBC, then moved to Toronto in 1981. An actor for over fifty years, Nicholas has performed from coast to coast, most notably with his acclaimed solo-show, A Side of Rice. Other stage-credits include Fiddler on the Roof (Drayton, YES Theatre), Riot at Christie Pits
(Hogtown), Indecent (Studio 180/Mirvish), Zadie’s Shoes (Alberta Theatre Projects), A Christmas Carol (Neptune Theatre), and The Tempest and Two Gentlemen of Verona (St. Lawrence Shakespeare
Festival). On screen, Nicholas has appeared in Look Who’s Talking, Coroner, Suits, Murdoch Mysteries, and the horror-fantasy Deathstalker.


He sends love to Beth Anne and Asher – and he dedicates his performance as Morrie to the memory of Rudi Engbrecht, A Teacher to
the Last.

Ganesh Thava

Ganesh Thava is a Tamil-Canadian writer, director, and actor working in theatre and film. He trained at George Brown Theatre School in Toronto and the Neighborhood Playhouse Theatre in New York. As a performer, he has taken on dynamic roles in productions such as Jane Eyre, Harvey, and The Beloved. His screen credits include Bark (Panoptic Pictures), The Most Dangerous Game (CBS Studios), and Spin (Disney Studios).

Beyond acting, Ganesh is an award-winning director and playwright. His original work Koli Kari debuted at the Toronto Fringe, and his films The Orchid & The Tree and Bark have screened internationally. He is also the founder of Pink Banana Theatre, dedicated to amplifying underrepresented voices.

Ganesh’s work explores themes of identity, belonging, and power dynamics, particularly through the lens of ethnicity, status, and sexuality. He strives to create spaces where complex, diverse narratives can thrive.

Graham Banville

Fight Director

​For KTC: Debut

 

Graham is an actor and stage combat choreographer from Barrie, Ontario. He has a degree in Drama from Queen's University and is a certified Actor-Combatant with Fight Directors Canada. This is his first show with the King Theatre Company, gladly joining this production with friends new and old. He has experience teaching and choreographing fights for community theatres, high school productions, and independent projects including: The Pirates of Penzance (Kincardine Theatre Guild), Crab Mentality (U of T Alumni project), I Hate Hamlet (South Simcoe Theatre), and Romeo and Juliet (Theatre Georgian Bay). When not in the theatre, he keeps the lights on in his role as an apprentice electrician.

Morgan Evans is a professional theatrical designer, scenic painter, and props builder. She has worked on many different high-level productions across the GTA demonstrating her wide variety of talents and skills. Morgan is thrilled to be working with King Theatre Company for the first time this year on the upcoming production of A Christmas Carol.

Sequoia Erickson

Sequoia Erickson likes making things: from giant butterflies, to shadow puppets, to tutus and samurai armour. A strong belief in the power of the extraordinary compels her to be constantly searching for unusual and visually creative ways to tell stories. She has had the pleasure of designing costumes for Talk Is Free Theatre, Flawed Designs, St. Clair College and Toronto Metropolitan University. When she’s not designing, Sequoia also works as a shadow puppeteer, stilt walker and costume builder and breakdown artist. She is a graduate of the Performance Production program at Toronto Metropolitan University and a nominee for this year’s Pauline McGibbon Award. Ernesto De Luca

Music Director

Seasoned pianist and organist, Ernesto dedicates his life to music and produces a collaborative space for the creation of it. He is proficient at accompaniment and innovative compositions for chamber music and ensembles.  Commitment to daily practice and preparedness allows for Ernesto to partake in a wide variety of musical genres, such as classical, musical theatre, and sacred church music. This adaptability and versatility has equipped him for the professional music world.  His BFA in music at York University consisted of classical piano, flute, and organ. The Addams Family, Honeymoon in Vegas, and Into the Woods are just some of the musicals Ernesto has played in, and has been Music Director for some with The South Simcoe Theatre in Cookstown. He has played flute in the Kindred Spirits Orchestra and the Greater Toronto Philharmonic Orchestra. Currently, he works as the Music Director/Organist at All Saints Anglican Church in King City, the collaborative pianist for The Cellar Singers choir in Orillia, and the collaborative pianist for Oriana Women’s Choir in Toronto.

Khaleel Gandhi

Khaleel is a film and video director, editor, producer and production manager. He is also a professional theatrical stage manager, video designer and occasional photographer. He has an Honours B.A. in Theatre, Film and Multimedia Studies (McMaster, 2021).

As a filmmaker, he focuses on three areas: documentary, education, and corporate videos. On the stage, he supports production teams in bringing their artistic and technical visions to life, and from time to time will lend his film knowledge to create projections and videos.

He is based in Collingwood, Ontario, and has worked in Barrie, Toronto, Hamilton, and beyond.

Lee Stone

Lee Stone (they/them) is a director, producer, and educator. They were born and raised on Chumash and Tongva land in Southern California and educated on Kānaka Maoli land at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa (2013). As a queer/polyamorous, trans/non-binary, white settler/immigrant of German, Jewish-Ukrainian, and Armenian descent, Lee has spent a lifetime using theatre, storytelling, and education to resist the cishet, white colonial project. Their neuro-spicy passions include intersectional feminism and the history of resistance across Turtle Island. In 2022 Lee was awarded the Toronto Arts Council, Newcomer and Refugee Artist Mentorship Grant for the purpose of founding Dead Name Theatre (DNT), which uplifts and centres the voices, experiences and talents of trans, non-binary, and queer creatives in Toronto. Lisa is a theatre designer and technician. She has worked for theatre companies across Canada, including Newfoundland’s Rising Tide Theatre and Victoria’s Blue Bridge Theatre. She recently completed her MFA in Theatre Design & Production at the University of Victoria. She also studied at Humber College and York University's Glendon College, both of which she has returned to as a theatre staff member. Lisa is thrilled to be working with King Theatre Company again after designing the lighting for last summer’s inaugural production of Salt-Water Moon.

Daniel Tessy

Daniel Tessy is an Iraqi-Jamaican-Canadian multidisciplinary theatre artist, technician, educator and recording artist. He has produced original scores and soundscapes for companies such as
Renegade Arts Society, Holy Crow Arts, Green Thumb Theatre, United Players of Vancouver, Capilano University and more. His work outside sound and music includes lighting and projection design, directing and technical direction. He had a long collaboration with UBC’s Creative Writing department, supporting new works by their faculty and students with directing and design work. He’s just relocated to Tkarón:to to participate in its vibrant arts community, and is a sessional lecturer at the University of Toronto.

Adrian Forestieri

​For KTC:  Once Upon A Stage Workshops.

Adrian Forestieri is an experienced musician with a diverse vocal and instrumental music background. Proficient in piano, guitar, and French horn, he has performed in various settings, including choral ensembles, orchestras, and recitals. Adrian has led musical groups through rehearsals and performances, coordinating arrangements and ensuring cohesive interpretations of pieces. He has also taught music at the K-12 level, sharing his expertise with students of all ages and fostering their growth in technique and musical understanding. His work includes contributing to ensemble performances on French horn and providing rhythmic and melodic support. 

​Adrian served as the Director of Camps and Inclusion Services in King Township, bringing over four years of experience working with youth. His leadership focused on creating inclusive, engaging programs that fostered growth and community for campers and staff alike.
